Monument Valley inspires. It also calms you down, develops spatial thinking, and sets you in the right mood. If you are tired of the endless stream of identical games, buy Monument Valley. However, this material is not a strict call to buy. It is only a subjective story about the impressions that the game gave. Each of you will have different impressions.

The genius (we are almost not afraid to use this word here) of Monument Valley game lies in its moderate simplicity. It is complex enough to make you think for half an instant. In front of us is an uncomplicated puzzle, which will require your spatial thinking and basic imagination, which you liked to use in geometry lessons at school. The main character is a certain Princess Ida. At the very beginning of the game we know nothing about her. With each new stage, small details about her personality are revealed to us. Yes, she is young, and also a bit silly. She’s also a runaway. And a thief. Well, so on and so forth. Truth be told, the princess in Monument Valley is “no” character. This is done on purpose, of course. The player must concentrate on spatial illusions, solving puzzles. And they are just great here.

There’s the floor, it became a ceiling in a second. Or a sheer wall. And these steps are not really visible unless you move the platform. And if you change the angle, the obstructing abyss will disappear, merge with the wall and disappear from sight. It will disappear not only for our eyes, but also for the heroine. The main rule of interaction with the little princess is that what you see and how you see it is exactly how she perceives everything. You and the heroine perform at the same time.

Problem solving is harmonized with wonderful, simply magical music. Really, it is a monstrous limitation of the text material – it is impossible to convey in words how beautiful are all those melodies that will play in the dynamics of the device. Just trust us, and you will not be disappointed during the direct acquaintance with Monument Valley.

As for the difficulty, we should also note that the game will “show its teeth” only on the later levels – in particular, the cube puzzle promises to cause a lot of trouble. Enemies sometimes appear here – but they, let’s say, are not out of the general atmosphere and style. The enemies are anthropomorphic crows – you won’t be afraid of them, as they are drawn very schematically, as well as the princess herself. The crows caw and cause minimal discomfort, sometimes preventing you from advancing to your goal. Among Ida’s allies will be seen a Totem, a large stone with an animated, imagine an eye. The silent stone will help you sneak towards your final goal, requiring you to be close to it in return.
